**Job Summary:** We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team. The purchasing agent will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials to meet the company's operational needs while ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following duties:
1. Primary responsibility is working with Purchasing Manager to run Purchasing Department.
2. Interface with Made-to-Manage system to access Purchasing and Inventory data.
3. Made-to-Manage entry and Receiver creation for all local non-inventory Purchase Orders.
4. Research price/availability on all shop, office, shipping, and receiving supplies & services.
5. Place orders for all shop, office, shipping, and receiving supplies, and track as required.
6. Obtain competitive pricing & availability from prospective vendors as needed.
7. Create and place orders for Inventory / Job Order items as needed.
8. Create Subcontract Purchase Orders and Shippers – complete with applicable drawings and PO instructions – for outside operations in absence of Purchasing Manager.
9. Receives and processes requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment.
10. Consults with departments regarding needs and purchase specifications.
11. Locates sources of supplies.
12. Types, sorts, distributes, and files purchase orders.
13. Resolves problems with purchase orders such as delinquent orders and errors.
14. Matches invoices, PO’s, and requisitions together for accounting.
Qualification Requirements
An individual with the following qualifications is considered qualified for the job:
1. Associate’s degree from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
3. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
4. Ability to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
5. Experience in ERP systems
6. Knowledge of relevant computer applications and ability to type.
7. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must pass background check and physical.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
