We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Finance team in the Eagan office. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong understanding of AP processes and a passion for ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing:
- Review, verify, and process a high volume of invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Vendor Relations:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Handle inquiries, discrepancies, and disputes efficiently.
Payments Management:
- Prepare and process payment runs (ACH, wire transfers, checks).
- Ensure adherence to payment terms and company policies.
Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable subledger to the general ledger.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address outstanding issues.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX, and GAAP standards.
- Generate AP reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and recommend improvements to AP processes to enhance efficiency.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance with 2 years’ experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Vision) preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
