Your team provides voice, video, and/or data communications network services to worldwide customers so they can support mission critical operations. You’ll design and specify network upgrades for network hardware, circuits, and management tools. You’ll support capacity planning, Tier 3 operations, and special projects. - Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Assist in the design and implementation of network systems, tools, hardware, and software
- Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery)
- Assess network utilization: suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
- Perform Tier 3 packet capture analysis and troubleshooting of performance issues
- Participate in resolving network outages and provide After Action Reports (AARs) upon resolution
- Use Putty, SMC, GEM, Splunk, Wireshark, HPNA, HP NNMi, Netscout, and various other tools to manage infrastructure
- Participate in engineering projects or upgrades when needed
- Assist in the development of network technical documentation, policies, and procedures
- Interface with vendors to ensure proper performance of tools and software packages
- TS/SCI; CI Poly
- 8570 IAT Level II Certification (typically Security )
- Must have at least one CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIP-ENT or similar network certification
- High School 10 years; Bachelor’s 8; Master’s 6
- Experience with WAN circuit technologies (T1; DS3; OC-3; OC-12; OC-192)
- Working knowledge of network technologies and protocols including Trunking, VTP, Layer 2 & 3 Port-channels, Spanning-Tree, Port-Security, HSRP, EIGRP, OSPF, QoS, BGP, and MPLS, BFD
- Knowledge of Hierarchical Network design and Multi-layer network design for troubleshooting
- Knowledge of network monitoring using SNMP protocol and system logging
- Knowledge of Cisco Voice and Conferencing technologies
- Experience programming and troubleshooting KG-175A, KG-175D, and 10G encryptors
