We are currently offering a fantastic career opportunity for a highly motivated Research Associate to join Antharis Therapeutics, a pre-clinical company based in San Diego. The company is committed to discovering and developing novel immunotherapeutics (monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates) for various disease states. The approaches for antibody discovery, including hybridoma technology, aim to streamline the development of lead candidates for entering the clinic in an expedited fashion.
We are seeking a Research Associate to report directly to the Director of Research & Development and join our dynamic team. The role involves executing immunization procedures on mice, isolation of splenocytes, a fusion of splenocytes with a fusion partner, hybridoma cell culture, and subsequent screening protocols using ELISA, alongside all stages of antibody generation. The candidate must proficiently use MS Office, especially Excel, and maintain detailed records in our ELN and database systems. Responsibilities also include preparing laboratory solutions and performing antibody purification. Effective communication, meeting tight deadlines, and being adaptable in a fast-paced environment are essential. Flexibility for occasional late hours and the capacity to thrive in a self-directed team is required, with the potential for additional duties as needed.
Essential Job Functions :
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, incubator instruments, and glassware
- Prepares buffers and other standard laboratory solutions, as well as cell culture media
- Monitors product delivery to the laboratory and organizes consumables and reagents
- Performs mammalian cell culture using aseptic techniques
- Keeps record of frozen samples in liquid nitrogen
- Performs hybridoma cell culture, supernatant collection and concentration
- Performs experiments with cultured cells and takes images using the microscope if required
- Carries out routine analytical assays such as ELISA and SDS-PAGE
- Plans and carries out flow cytometry-based assays and data analysis
- Performs monoclonal antibody purification processes
- Executes in-vitro and, ideally, in-vivo experiments
- Follows established protocols or procedures and develops standard operating procedures, if needed
- Uses MS Office products proficiently, especially Excel
- Uses GraphPad Prism to perform statistical analysis and generate graphs
- Maintains detailed records regarding cell cultures and experiments
- Communicates with associate scientists and collaborators on methodologies, results, etc.
- Meets deadlines, rapidly adapts to changes in the laboratory and experimental workflow, and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced team environment
- Exhibits flexibility. Sporadically, sample processing and experiments may require late hours
- Thrives in a self-directed environment and communicate with people with various educational backgrounds
