Position Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic IT Director to oversee and play a hands-on role in all aspects of technology for our restaurant company. The IT Director will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of technology systems that support our restaurant operations, ensuring seamless communication, operational efficiency, and data security across all locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, experience in the hospitality/retail industry, and the ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and manage the IT department, including overseeing vendors and consultants.
- Develop and implement the company’s IT strategy to support business objectives and growth, ensuring the technology infrastructure aligns with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify technology needs and recommend solutions that optimize restaurant operations, customer experience, and profitability.
Systems & Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including POS systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other operational software.
- Ensure that all restaurant locations, wholesale distribution center, and corporate office are equipped with reliable, secure, and scalable technology systems, with minimal downtime.
- Manage and maintain data backup, disaster recovery plans, and security protocols to protect sensitive information, including customer and employee data.
Technology Innovation:
- Stay current on emerging technologies and trends in the restaurant and hospitality industry, and evaluate opportunities for integration to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and profitability.
- Lead projects involving the adoption of new technologies.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all industry standards, regulatory requirements (such as PCI-DSS for payment card processing), and best practices in cybersecurity.
- Develop and enforce policies for data protection, information security, and user access management.
Vendor & Budget Management:
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring that contracts are aligned with the company’s needs, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Develop and manage the IT department’s budget, allocating resources effectively for hardware, software, and personnel.
Training & Support:
- Provide IT training and support to restaurant staff and other departments, ensuring a high level of system adoption and proficiency across all locations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technology-related issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to operations.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT management, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Skills & Abilities:
- Expertise in network infrastructure, cloud services, and enterprise applications.
- Proven experience with cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance standards.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team, while collaborating across various departments.
Application Experience (preferred but not required):
- M365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server, Cisco Meraki, VLAN, Cloud-based POS, Wi-Fi, VoIP, Sophos, SD-WAN, Dynamics GP, Nagios, iLO, as well as legacy services such as fire/burglar alarm systems.
Position Requirements:
Hours and Days of Work:
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; situations may arise that require IT support outside of normal business hours.
- Ability to travel to locations as needed
