Job Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Social Worker to support students' social, emotional, and academic success in schools across Michigan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement evidence-based Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions and collaborate with teachers to promote Social and Emotional Learning
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans for SEL learning and other interventions by partnering with educators
- Foster a positive school climate and culture conducive to student learning, utilizing effective practices that provide for safe environments and supportive relationships
- Prepare and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Functional Behavior Assessments/Behavior Intervention Plans (FBAs/BIPs)
- Provide advocacy, child welfare, and case management services to students as needed
- Assess and identify students with emotional, social, attendance, and/or behavioral concerns within the general education population and provide clinical interventions
- Offer consultations and expertise to classroom teachers and be a resource for school site personnel on mental health and social/emotional issues affecting classroom performance
- Coordinate and facilitate professional development for educators, staff, and administrators in areas such as social/emotional learning, self-care, and trauma-sensitive schools
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Doctoral degree in a related field
- Eligibility for Licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Michigan
- Approval from the State of Michigan for School Social Work Services
- Preferred experience working in K-12 settings
