Job description
Antioch Christian Summer Academy is looking for a dynamic and experienced Teacher to join our team. Our Teachers are responsible for teaching students in a classroom setting, assisting with various activities, and providing general classroom support in a Christian church environment.
Core duties and responsibilities:
- Must be available at 9 AM - 3 PM from July 8 - August 15 (six weeks).
- Provides support to students in the classroom setting by following lesson plans/handouts, helping students understand concepts, and participating in class activities.
- Provides support to the school’s Head Teacher by working with the school's Director on issues regarding student behavior, curriculum, and classroom management.
- Participates in planning lesson plans/handouts for classes and assisting in class discussions.
- Provides feedback to teachers on student performance and provides feedback to parents regarding student progress.
- Supports the school's mission and vision by working with the school's Director to maintain a clean, safe, orderly, and orderly school environment for students at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least a Junior in college.
- Knowledge of child development methods and methods of teaching Math and English language arts (English/grammar/vocabulary)
- Knowledge of child development methods and methods of teaching Mathematics at the 3rd Grade level
- Ability to work with children from all social backgrounds and socioeconomic levels
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) as well as active listening.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure with a large group of students.
- Strong organization skills.
- Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields preferred but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $500.00 per week
