Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Superintendent to oversee and manage landscaping and construction projects in NYC parks. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations of public works projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and crew supervision.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and city officials to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with NYC Parks Department specifications.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Prepare daily reports, including labor, material, and equipment usage, and submit to management.
- Resolve on-site issues promptly to avoid project delays.
- Manage subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to contract requirements.
- Attend progress meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Superintendent in landscaping or construction, preferably with NYC public works projects.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of NYC Parks Department regulations and public works procedures.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
- Proficient in project scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 Certification is required; NYC DOB Site Safety Training (SST) is preferred.
- Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
