General Summary

The Crew Member for Front of House is responsible for creating memorable experiences for our guests.  Must be passionate about providing guests with the best experience possible.  Must follow Popeyes Service Basics: smile, make eye contact, greet the guest, repeat the order, and thank the guest.  Must enjoy working with people who take food seriously yet have fun preparing and serving it.  Must be committed to contributing to the collaborative spirit of the team, be energized by the opportunity to learn, grow and explore your career potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates a great experience by serving the guest well.
  • Holds self-accountable to meet performance expectations.
  • Acts with integrity and honesty, and promotes the culture of Popeyes.
  • Greets guests to make them feel comfortable and welcome.
  • Ability to communicate a smile through use of tone of voice while using the headset in the drive-thru area.
  • Ability to communicate in a warm inviting voice by showing expressions of appreciation like, “welcome to Popeyes,” or “thank you”.
  • Takes guests’ food orders and handles cash and credit transactions through a Point of Sale register; including the ability to count correct change.
  • Assists the management team in creating a great place to work and delivering memorable guest experiences.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Brand and menu items.
  • Checks food quality and food temperatures throughout the day to ensure the food is fresh and safe to serve.
  • Monitors Speed of Service to ensure delivery of guest expectations by listening for guests’ orders when given and not wait for them to appear on the monitor while performing packaging duties.
  • Ensures the restaurant is welcoming and clean.
  • Ensures completion and accuracy of order before delivery to the customer; Smile and repeat the order as it was packaged when delivering to guests.
  • Ensures each station is stocked appropriately before and after each rush period.
  • Assists with cleaning and maintaining guest visible areas by wiping tables, sweeping floors, cleaning the drink station, keeping visible work areas stocked and orderly, and maintaining clean, well-stocked restrooms for guests.
  • Assists with filling of orders by cupping sides in accordance with Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen portion control standards.
  • Assists other team members with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant/property including disposal of trash and debris from outside parking lot, cleaning windows and other general cleaning requirements assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to anticipate needs of the customer and proactively work to meet those needs.
  • Able to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and performs with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Friendly and positive attitude with great communication and listening skills. Smile!
  • Attend shifts according to schedule, with punctuality, and in proper uniform.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Treats all team members and guests with respect, dignity, integrity, and sensitivity.
  • Provides a safe working environment by complying with safety rules and reporting potential hazards.

Physical Demands of the Job

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to consistently carry products/boxes and miscellaneous items weighing no more than 60 pounds.
  • Consistently operates a Point of Sale register.
  • Be able to reach, bend, squat, stoop, shake, carry, push and lift items throughout the shift.
  • Good hearing for accurate communication.
  • Occasionally uses a step stool.
  • Consistently kneels to utilize proper lifting procedures.
  • Consistently push to open and close door to store and storage shed as well as cooler and freezers.
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests.
  • Frequently stoops to pick up supplies and trash.
  • Ability to work standing and walk for 8 hours or more per day.
  • Consistently sees during all activities.

Education and Experience

  • Experience in a limited service restaurant is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is desired, but not required.
