Job Summary:
Anytime Fitness is seeking a highly motivated individual, who has a passion for helping others, to fill our Sales & Training Specialist position. You will work in a fast-paced and upbeat atmosphere where you’ll have the opportunity to improve people’s lives through health and fitness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong sales and training background.
The ideal applicant will have at least 2 – 5 years of experience in the health and fitness industry and must hold a personal training certification. To be considered for this position, you must be a high-energy self-starter, have an extroverted personality, enjoy sales, and be a great motivator. You will be a representative of our brand and serve as a fitness guidance counselor to all members.
You will hold a key role in implementing the Member On-boarding Process, which includes, conducting Fitness Consultations, determining the right level of coaching and resources needed for each member to achieve their fitness goals, and managing member retention by ensuring meaningful touch points for the lifetime of the member. You will also be responsible for working closely with the Regional Director, helping with general upkeep of the club, and assisting in community outreach to positively influence member acquisition.
Compensation for this position consists of base pay, plus a commission based upon sales and performance. If you are not comfortable with having a percentage of your compensation based on performance, this role is not right for you.
1. Sales Responsibilities:
- Member Acquisition:
- Promote gym memberships and services to potential clients through various methods such as in-person consultations, phone calls, and online communication.
- Lead generation and following up with prospective members.
- Conduct gym tours and demonstrate available services and facilities to prospective members.
- Sales Conversion:
- Convert leads into paying clients by effectively presenting membership options, promotions, and benefits.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
- Upsell additional services like personal training, group classes, body composition scans, or other gym-related products.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential members.
- Address member concerns, offer solutions, and provide high levels of customer service.
- Work with clients to ensure they are satisfied and engaged with their memberships, encouraging renewals.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the Regional Director to implement promotions and campaigns.
- Participate in local events or social media initiatives to raise awareness and drive membership sales.
2. Training Responsibilities:
- Conduct Personal/1:1 and Group Training Sessions:
- Provide personalized fitness assessments to clients, including fitness consultations, goal setting, and designing training programs in accordance with Anytime Fitness training plans.
- Lead individual or small group personal training sessions, ensuring that clients perform exercises safely and effectively.
- Fitness Program Design:
- Create tailored fitness programs based on client goals, whether that’s weight loss, muscle gain, strength training, or rehabilitation.
- Adjust training programs as necessary, tracking progress, and making recommendations for further improvement.
- Client Education and Support:
- Educate clients on proper exercise techniques, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Provide motivation and accountability for clients, ensuring they stay engaged and committed to their fitness goals.
3. Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities:
- Data Tracking and Reporting:
- Track sales performance, member acquisition, and retention metrics, reporting to management and sales coach regularly.
- Keep records of clients' progress, assessments, and membership renewals.
- Scheduling and Client Management:
- Manage personal training schedules and book appointments.
- Handle cancellations, reschedules, and any client inquiries regarding training sessions or memberships.
4. Gym Environment and Team Collaboration:
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other gym staff (Regional Director, other trainers, managers) to ensure a positive experience for all members.
- Participate in team meetings, sharing feedback and ideas for improving sales and training processes.
- Facility and Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure gym equipment is maintained properly and report any damage or issues.
- Keep the gym environment clean, motivating, and welcoming to all members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication, sales, and customer service skills.
- Fitness training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, or other recognized qualifications).
- Ability to work with a wide range of clients with varying fitness levels.
- Knowledge of nutrition and general fitness principles.
- Target-driven with a focus on both sales and client satisfaction.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
