About the role
Data Science at Anza MI is a blend of statistical analysis, machine learning, software development, and risk management. The team uses a cloud-native technology stack to analyze mortgage-related data, train a suite of predictive models, and automate operational processes.
You will have the opportunity to develop across these skills dimensions through mentorship and your portfolio of work. You will conduct analyses and automate reporting processes, as well as contribute to the research and development of predictive models. You will work autonomously and in partnership with more senior members of the team.
What you'll do
Data and Statistical Analysis: Produce correct and informative analyses for key business decisions (e.g. Quarto, memos, Shiny).
Predictive Model Development: Assist in research for and maintenance of the team’s suite of predictive models.
Reporting and Automation: Smart design for reports and processes to save time and increase efficiency.
Team Collaboration: Work with the risk team and our internal partners.
Continuous Learning: Improve coding skills as well as knowledge of our market and business (mortgage and housing finance).
Qualifications
Recent graduates with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
Minimum skills
- Proficiency in Python and/or R.
- SQL skills.
- A solid understanding of probability and statistics, data fluency and visualization.
- Experience with predictive modeling/machine learning, git, and finance knowledge are a plus.
- Analytical mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
