Position: Payroll & HR Assistant
Location: Hybrid position based in Bend, Oregon. Occasional in-office presence required for company events or office support.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST
Compensation:
- Annual Salary: $55,000
- Potential for Annual Year-End Bonus

Role Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & HR support person to serve as a backup for payroll processing and provide administrative support for HR functions. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate payroll records, timely employee payments, and maintaining compliance with HR policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Serve as a backup to the Payroll Specialist, ensuring smooth payroll operations in their absence.
- Review and verify employee timecards in ADP Workforce Now for accuracy.
- Process semi-monthly and monthly payroll as needed, ensuring timely and error-free payments.
- Maintain and update payroll records to reflect employee changes, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and deductions.
- Assist with preparing and submitting payroll tax filings and compliance reports.
HR Administration
- Maintain and organize employee personnel files, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and record-keeping policies.
- Assist HR Director in new hire onboarding, including paperwork completion and orientation support.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, payroll, and benefits with professionalism and accuracy.
- Support the HR Director with annual audits and compliance reviews.
- Ensure employee data is accurately maintained in the HR information system (HRIS).
- Conduct regular audits of employee records to ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Uphold confidentiality and data privacy in all HR and payroll-related matters.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll administration experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in payroll and HR data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
