What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Supervisor position at AP Executive Staffing?
AP Executive Staffing (APX) is hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor on a temp to possible perm basis for our customer, a leading non-profit organization located in downtown Buffalo at their state-of-the-art administrative headquarters (free parking). In this hands-on role, you will prepare, process and supervise accounts payable, including directly supervising 2 accounting clerks. You will also be responsible for journal entries, maintenance of accurate and timely records of expenditures and preparation and maintenance of all supporting Accounts Payable documents and reports.
Specific duties will include:
- Prepare accounts payable checks and codes invoices to proper accounts.
- Post and summarize cash receipts and disbursements.
- Verify and match invoices and other documents necessary to process payments and distribute checks
- Assist with monthly and year-end close out procedures.
- Systematically verify and audit accounts for completeness and accuracy
- Responsible for overview and assignment of day to day work within accounts payable and the supervision of the accounts payable clerk staff.
Skill/Experience Requirements
- High school diploma OR equivalency
- Five (5) years of experience in accounts payable using automated accounting and data management tools (Sage experience preferred)
- 1 year of Supervisory experience
- Ability to deal with vendors and clients in an efficient and professional manner.
Skill/Experience Preferences:
- Associates degree in Accounting or business school with courses in accounting helpful
- Non-profit experience helpful
- Effective work skills such as conscientious, persistent, resourceful, productive, and detail-oriented.
Starting Range: $26 per hour, 35 hours per week
