Position Title: Adhesive Chemist

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Adhesive Chemist with a strong background in pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives and laboratory experience. This role will focus on adhesive formulation, quality control, and the development of testing protocols for both adhesives and related product components such as silicone release liners, inks, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities
Adhesive Development and Testing:
- Formulate and optimize pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives to meet performance specifications.
- Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate adhesive performance, including tack, peel, and shear strength.
- Analyze data to troubleshoot and enhance adhesive properties for various applications.
Quality Control:
- Perform batch testing to ensure the consistency and quality of adhesives.
- Develop and implement testing protocols for raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain detailed records of quality control results and recommend improvements based on findings.
Product Component Evaluation:
- Design and execute quality control testing procedures for silicone release liners, inks, and other product components.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet required specifications.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare technical reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and specifications for internal and external use.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to adhesives and related materials.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to support product development and manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders regarding adhesive applications and performance.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience working with pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives in a laboratory or manufacturing setting.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in laboratory testing and equipment operation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to design and implement quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies for adhesives and product components.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with silicone release liners, inks, or other related materials.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) for adhesive testing.
