Senior Accountant (Hybrid)
Location: Melville, NY
Expected Contract Length/Duration: 6 months
Overview:
Our client, a leading player in the Consumer Electronics industry, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team on a hybrid basis. This role is perfect for a mid-senior-level professional with a strong background in accounting and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Department Manager in the preparation, review, and financial reporting of monthly, quarterly, and supplementary information.
- Prepare journal entries and accruals during the month-end close process, including reconciliation of inter-company activity.
- Analyze G/L transactions for accuracy to ensure all phases of the general ledger and financial statements are accurately presented.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed monthly variance analysis compared to actual.
- Prepare inventory reserve calculations and inventory management reporting.
- Prepare schedules for periodic internal audits and other ad hoc reporting as required.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of related accounting work experience, including prior analytical work in an accounting environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing/cost accounting environment is a strong plus.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Hyperion Financial Management and Oracle E-Business is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
