The Project Managers (PM’s) at Connors Haas are members of the management team and are the center point of any construction project undertaken by the company. To the project team, the PM is the project leader and the individual that sets the direction, eliminates obstacles and gains needed answers. To company officers, the PM represents the eyes, ears, and brain of the project, responsible for completing the work on time, according to specifications and at a profit. To the project owner, general contractor and to other trades on the job, this person is the electrical contractor’s ambassador with the authority to act on behalf of the company. The PM role has many facets that require leadership, technical knowledge, sound judgement, common sense, sensitivity to people, excellent communication skills and a knack for diplomacy.
Position Duties & Responsibilities :
The Project Manager oversees the staff working on a project, assigning duties, and tracks progress to deliver the project as ordered. The responsibilities of this position include :
- Set and maintain a schedule, site specific safety plans, submittals, material procurement, building permits, as built drawings, and design build.
- Track and forecast job costs via WIP (work in progress) requirements.
- Manage all aspects of the project.
- Provide electrical installation and design advice on projects.
- Maintain and grow customer base.
- Ensure that installations / repairs meet customer needs and are of the highest quality.
- Price change orders.
- Attend job meetings, scheduling meetings, design / BIM meetings.
- Estimate jobs.
- Manage labor, material, and tools / equipment.
