Apache Mills, Inc., a worldwide leader in floor mat manufacturing, has an immediate opening as we begin to rebuild our production operations for the growing demand for our products. We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Maintenance Team as a Clerk Purchasing for our Maintenance Department.
This position is responsible for purchasing and procurement activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to include executing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, and coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs.

The position requires (this is not a complete job description):
- using proficiently Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
- Fluke X5 mobile experience (not required)
- purchasing and procurement activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- managing inventory and supply chain for multiple locations
- negotiating contracts for optimal price and terms
- working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- meeting or exceeding company quality standards
- maintaining regular and predictable attendance
- complying with company processes and procedures
- following verbal and written instructions
- standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders and reaching while handling material or products
- working cooperatively, courteously, and respectfully with all team members, vendors, and visitors
- performing job duties in variable weather conditions (including hot weather)
- ensuring good housekeeping of all areas on company premises
- successfully completing drug and background screenings
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- reading, comprehending, and executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Operating Conditions (SOCs), and safety procedures including LOTO
- anticipating material usage based on order requirements, history, and forecast
- ordering materials according to customer orders and planned stock levels
- entering and maintaining purchase orders in the system
- executing methods, strategies, and procedures for improving the purchasing and procurement activities to meet or exceed objectives for safety, quality, service and cost
- evaluating vendor relations to ensure solid contracts, optimal price, and adequate timelines while maintaining a database, purchasing records, and related documentation
- assessing all procured items to ensure alignment with quality standards and specifications
- participating in root cause and corrective action investigations
- auditing incoming raw material quality to ensure incoming materials meet specifications
- analyzing cost and service level requirements
- maintaining chemical inventory accuracy through system and physical counting of on hand materials
- working directly with Maintenance personnel to address quality and supply related issues; make decisions that conform to standards or take appropriate action to improve the issue.
