JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Clinical Psychologist specializing in autism diagnosis to join our dynamic team. This role involves conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and providing diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will have expertise in evidence-based assessment tools, a deep understanding of autism, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments to evaluate for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including standardized tests, parent/caregiver interviews, and direct behavioral observations.
- Provide diagnostic clarity and feedback to families, individuals, and referring professionals.
- Develop comprehensive reports summarizing findings, treatment recommendations, and diagnostic impressions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, assessment tools, and best practices in the field of autism diagnosis.
- Provide educational support to families regarding autism spectrum disorders, treatment options, and interventions.
- Offer ongoing support and follow-up assessments to monitor progress and adjust treatment recommendations.
- Provide training or consultation to staff and community organizations on autism-related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution.
- Active state licensure as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Extensive experience in diagnosing autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using standardized assessment tools.
- Strong understanding of the characteristics, challenges, and strengths of individuals with autism.
- Experience working with children and adolescents.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of current research, evidence-based practices, and intervention strategies for individuals with autism.
