With over 40 years in business, APC Home Health Service, Inc. is dedicated to providing HOME Maker Services (Provider/Attendant) to individuals in the Rio Grande Valley, El Paso, Laredo, and Corpus Christi and compassionate skilled nursing to patients in the Harlingen and Corpus Christi area.
APC Home Health Service, Inc., is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Clerk who will provide administrative support to the HR Department.
Responsibilities
· Conduct reference checks and all relevant background checks upon recommendation to hire.
· conducts EMR/NAR checks on an annual basis and conducts monthly State and Federal LEIE checks.
· Independently determines candidate new hire approval status based on clear background results.
· Ensures that EMPLOYEE personnel files are complete, all signatures have been obtained, and all state and agency requirements are met and kept up to date. Audit periodically as requested and required and tracks and monitors personnel job requirements for employees.
· Responsible for processing and responding to Texas Workforce Commission Claims in a timely manner. Ensures that any required/requested documentation is submitted to TWC by the given deadline.
· Travels to all facilities periodically to assist in the audit of personnel files, update supervisors and clerks regarding new requirements, forms, and/or procedures concerning personnel matters.
· Responsible for processing and responding to verifications of employment.
· Files employees and other documents as requested and/or required.
· Cross trains in other capacities/functions within the human resources department.
· Assists and performs all clerical duties and other assignments in accordance with HR daily job duties and descriptions assigned.
· REQUIREMENTS
· Must direct and control assigned operations and information to maintain sound privacy and security practices and prevent privacy or security breaches. If a breach occurs, must take corrective action and notify the supervisor and the to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· High school diploma or GED, and one-year clerical experience preferably in Human Resources preferred.
· Ability to read and write in English; ability to interpret documents such as routine reports, correspondence, tables, and graphs. Ability to speak effectively with consumers and employees of the agency. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
