We are currently taking applications for production workers in the below areas:
- Graveyard Shift - Starting in 2025
- Monday night start
- Monday - Thursday 9pm-7am
The Press Operator is responsible for safely operating an extrusion press machine according to APEL standards and best practices. The individual filling this position must be able to observe and control the flow of material on the run-out tables. The Press Operator is also expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and other individuals from other departments, communicating requirements and providing direction to their production team.
General Duties and responsibilities
- Work with / operate large industrial equipment.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment - ear plugs, safety glasses, and boots - at all times.
- Comply with all policies and procedures in accordance with our quality management system
- Maintain full working knowledge of all equipment associated with the job.
- Review and follow work order instructions and best practice requirements.
- Adhere and promote all safety requirements.
- Read and understand dimensional prints.
- Operate measuring devices.
- Operate a forklift.
Skills
- High degree of independence and accountability - Good attendance is required.
- Detailed oriented individual able to frequently perform multiple tasks at a given time.
- Able to independently perform simple calculations.
- Communicate well and interact with others effectively.
- Working knowledge of extrusion press responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience operating large industrial equipment required.
- At least 3 years Manufacturing/Production/Warehouse experience required.
Working Environment
- Exposed to a production environment which includes noise, moving machinery, forklifts and fluctuations in temperature.
- Personal Protective Equipment provided.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and ability to lift, push, pull at least 25 pounds.
