Position: Auto Body Detailer/Reconditioning Technician Location: Marlborough, MA Salary Range: $17-$23 per hour

Job Summary: As an Auto Body Detailer/Reconditioning Technician at Apex Auto Center, you will play a vital role in the final stage of our repair process by meticulously detailing and reconditioning vehicles to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include finishing, wetsanding, and buffing vehicles, as well as performing other tasks related to auto body reconditioning. You will work closely with our autobody repair technicians and other team members to deliver outstanding results.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough detailing and reconditioning of vehicles, ensuring they are free from imperfections and defects before delivery to customers.
• Utilize your expertise in finishing, wetsanding, and buffing to restore vehicles' paintwork to its original condition.
• Conduct inspections to identify and address any cosmetic issues, such as scratches, swirl marks, or paint imperfections.
• Use various tools, equipment, and techniques to polish, wax, and protect vehicles' exteriors, giving them a showroom-like finish.
• Clean and detail vehicle interiors, including vacuuming, shampooing carpets, cleaning upholstery, and applying appropriate protectants.
• Ensure all reconditioning work is completed efficiently and within established timelines.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate effectively with autobody repair technicians and other team members to meet customer expectations and maintain high-quality standards.
• Assist with other autobody shop tasks as needed, such as assisting with repairs, parts ordering, or general maintenance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of experience working in an autobody shop environment with a focus on finishing, wetsanding, and buffing.
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for imperfections in vehicle paintwork.
• Proficient in using various tools and equipment related to auto body reconditioning.
• Solid knowledge of different paint types, finishes, and application techniques.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Motivated and hardworking with a strong work ethic.
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with industry safety practices and guidelines.
