Apex Machining Company, Inc. in White City, OR is hiring for a Mill Specialist.

We are in search of a motivated and innovative team member to help provide manufacturing services to a wide range of industries. Apex Machining Company, Inc. is a small CNC job shop, founded in 1990, dedicated to providing second-to-none quality and service to our customers.

Mill Specialist will be involved in CAD modeling, machine programming, machine setup, and running of parts through our extensively tooled CNC machine shop. You will work with experienced machinists together driving production and manufacturing goals toward job fulfillment and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan CNC manufacturing processes from billet to finished parts to assist in the quoting process
• Draft legible technical drawings using CAD
• Saving programs from machines to computer
• Model parts & fixturing from drawings or from concept using CAD
• Source tools from a vast selection of types and manufacturers
• Setup milling machines with holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials and test tool offsets and machine’s program functions
• Complete production, verify tolerances are being held to spec, inspection, and packaging requirements
• Document job tracker with set-up and run times, issues and resolutions for each manufacturing step per quality procedures
• Clean-up machine, work area, and perform preventative maintenance

Minimum Skills & Requirements:

• Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, taking and giving critical feedback
• 1-3 years educational, practical programming, and machining experience desired
• Ability to perform advanced shop math
• Ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues as they arise
• Familiarity with manual machine tools and grinding & honing processes
• Proficient in Solid works and AutoCAD Inventor or Fusion360
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Extensive cutting tool knowledge with familiarity in High Efficiency Milling
• Familiarity with vertical & horizontal mills
• Basic machinist tools/toolbox required
• Ability to stand for a ten-hour shift and lift 40lbs

Compensation & Benefit Package:

• $20 - $30/Hour depending on experience & qualifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
