POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the Mill in meeting its goals by managing daily plant production. Work includes overall management and scheduling of shifts and employees, monitoring the production and quality of plywood produced, and ensuring mill resources are utilized to the highest levels of efficiency. Ensures a safe and efficient work environment by communicating and managing to established safety, quality, and production goals.
MAJOR TASKS:
• Ensures a safe work environment is maintained and that the company safety program and safety standards are being met.
• Monitors and assesses product quality and appearance. Works with staff to continually improve quality attributes of all products sold.
• Responsible for tracking machine downtime, productivity and raw material utilization.
• Directly supervises shift supervisors in the areas of production and labor utilization.
• Ensures that plant site appearance is maintained to the highest level possible and reflects pride of ownership.
• Completes administrative paperwork and reporting related to production reports, scheduling, quality control, personnel actions, timekeeping and safety.
• Responsible for supporting and enforcing company policies and procedures.
