Their primary responsibility will be to support and manage various HR functions—including employee relations, compliance, and HR systems—while ensuring alignment with organizational policies and employment regulations. What your day will look like:
- Monitors, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, and work-related assessments, including but not limited to safety training, anti-harassment courses, professional licensure, aptitude tests, and certifications.
- Participates in and oversees employee disciplinary actions, terminations, and related investigations.
- Manages the recruitment process by sourcing, interviewing, and assisting in the selection of qualified candidates for open positions; works closely with departmental managers to identify necessary skills and qualifications.
- Coordinates and conducts background checks and verifies employment eligibility.
- Leads the onboarding process for new hires and supports employee recognition initiatives.
- Serves as a point of contact for employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; regularly reviews policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and alignment with best practices.
- Stays current on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in human resources, talent acquisition, and employment law.
- Administers and supports various human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, and leave management; disciplinary procedures; conflict resolution and investigations; performance and talent management; employee engagement; occupational health and safety; and professional development.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 5 years of HR experience; manufacturing environment and unionized plant preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, HRIS and talent management systems.
