About the Role:
At Apex Systems, we are seeking a highly skilled Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Acton, MA. As a critical contributor, you will be responsible for bringing to life assembly and process equipment for the startup of new Manufacturing Operations.
This role will transition to direct engineering and maintenance of equipment in Acton, MA, with accountability for ensuring a high level of machine uptime and minimal production scrap on complex discrete component assembly equipment.
The successful candidate will have strong proficiency in PLC programming (Rockwell ControlLogix), HMI programming, Cognex vision systems setup and programming, as well as experience with machine vision (Keyence and Cognex preferred).
A key aspect of this role is the ability to troubleshoot control circuits of automation equipment, with extensive experience in troubleshooting, installation, start-up, qualification, and debug of new automation.
You will be required to interface directly with manufacturing representatives to help drive preventative maintenance schedules, techniques, and training.
This is a hands-on role, requiring the candidate to take on project work assigned as an individual contributor, or as a participant on cross-functional teams.
