Job Summary : The Audio Visual Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio and visual equipment for meetings, conferences, and events within the organization. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues promptly.
Responsibilities :
Setup and Operation :
Set up, test, and operate audio-visual equipment including projectors, microphones, video monitors, and sound systems for meetings and events.
Ensure all AV equipment is functioning properly before events and provide on-site support during events to address any technical issues.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting :
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AV equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
Collaboration and Support :
Work closely with event coordinators, IT staff, and other departments to understand AV requirements and provide technical support.
Assist in the planning and execution of AV setups for large-scale events and conferences.
Documentation and Inventory :
Maintain accurate records of AV equipment inventory, including tracking usage and scheduling maintenance.
Document AV setups and configurations for future reference and training purposes.
Training and Development :
Provide training and support to staff on the proper use of AV equipment.
Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and upgrades.
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in audio-visual technology or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in audio-visual setup, operation, and maintenance, preferably in a corporate or enterprise environment.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in operating a variety of AV equipment including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing tools, and control systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
Soft Skills :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and clients.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and move heavy AV equipment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
