Apex is looking to fill a Communications Specialist position with a large client of ours out of the Miami, FL area. The hiring manager is looking for qualified candidates with strong written communication experience to large corporate environments. Position: Communications Specialist
Length: 1-Year Contract with potential to hire full time
Rate: $45-50/hr on W2
Location: Miami - Onsite 3-4 days a week
Job Description:
This individual will be responsible for making significant contributions to the strategic communication support of a business unit or significant department within a business unit. Expected to work with a high degree of initiative and independence in anticipating client needs and developing communication solutions that further the business objectives and supporting their ensuring their successful implementation.
Must Haves:
- 3-5 years’ experience in corporate environment doing employee communications and/or customer support
- Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate with executives
- Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications, Writing, or related field
Nice to Haves:
- Adobe video editing
- Previous: news reporters, marketing/communications, PR agency, utility experience
Responsibilities:
- Strategic communication planning, message development, writing, using research and analytics to drive planning and messaging
- Carry projects from the earliest stages of concept and development through to successful completion on time, on budget and as measured by achievement of metrics.
- Following and improving upon established processes, strong project management, building and maintaining great relationships with clients and co-workers and communicating effectively with them
- Using quantifiable metrics to track performance and progress
- Will work at both business unit and corporate levels.
- Will interface with business unit leadership and business process owners
Qualifications:
- 5 or more years relevant experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Public Relations, Advertising, etc.) required
- Expected to demonstrate expertise through writing and editing test
- Must demonstrate expertise in the development and disciplined execution of strategic communication plans and using research and audience insight to develop key messages
- Demonstrated discipline in project execution
- Excellent writing, verbal, editing, presentation, and overall communication skill
- Strong dedication to customer service
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of internal clients and demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for their business
- Ability to perform market research & analytics
- A talent for creative thinking and problem solving
- Ability to follow critical business processes to ensure quality and timely execution of initiatives
- Ability to multitask and maintain high performance under extreme pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
