What are the control systems?
Operational technology (OT) is a collection of hardware and software that controls and monitors physical devices and infrastructure. We focus on Civil Engineer control system being a subset of (OT) including SCADA, DCS, PLCs, BAS, etc. that provide utilities services to Air Force and Space Force bases. Think Airfield Lighting systems, Fire alarm and reporting systems, Heating and cooling systems (HVAC)s, etc. In the industry or the private sector this could be compared to nest thermostats that people use in their homes to control the temperature.
Is this for a Weapons platform?
No. There may be instances where a control system might support a weapons system (i.e., a weapons system needs power to operate or the facility where the weapons system is located needs the temperature set at a specific temperature). This role, however, does not include control systems that are a part of the physical make-up of weapons systems.
How hands on is this role?
This role is focused on policy, strategy, oversight and force development. While its very helpful for a team member to have either general cybersecurity, network or engineering knowledge, this role does not actively participate in hands on technical tasks such as coding or building out networks.

Job Description:
- Background in cybersecurity, computer science or engineering
- Experience with writing policy, interpreting/understanding security requirements or familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and guidance (NIST-800-53r5 or NIST 800-82r2)
- Experience working with military or previous military experience (not necessarily a requirement but very helpful)
