What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer position at Apex Systems?
Responsibilities :
- Support the product owners and creating engineering change orders / notices (ECN / ECO) for design changes.
- Support new products and existing product designs.
- Update issues with parts in production and create design changes.
- Act as the connection between the production site and product development in product / design-related questions / issues.
- Establishing mock-up / pilot assemblies and coordinating product change implementation.
- Supporting and participating in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes.
- Coordinating process and product changes between the plant and product owners
- Applying engineering principles to develop products that meet customer technical / functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost / efficiency requirements.
- Conducting mathematical modeling to determine if proposed designs are technically feasible.
- May also be involved with designing product-specific manufacturing production processes and equipment.
- Managing large projects or end-to-end processes with limited oversight from the manager.
- Solving difficult and often complex problems.
