Education
- High School or equivalent strongly desired
- 2-year OR 4-year degree is a plus
Job Experience
- Above average computer skills are essential for this position, including use of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to quickly learn TCMS, DSCADA, ARMS and CSS
- Prior electrical distribution system operating and/or transmission system operating experience strongly desired
- Experience as an operator (in a control room environment) or closely related experience is desired
- Experience in dispatching, coordinating work of others, sharing of best practices, and maximizing resources is highly desirable
- Prior callout and rotating shift experience is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of power distribution system theory, operation, relevant equipment, policies, procedures, trouble shooting and switching
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
- Demonstrated proper etiquette for providing excellent customer service both internal and external to the company
- Ability to monitor and control the activities and operation of multiple events simultaneously
- Demonstrated strong multi-tasking skills is required
- Proven strong diagnosis and complex problem solving skills are required
- Proven high degree of accuracy and quality of work results are required
- Proven excellent oral and written communication skills are required

- Must successfully complete Distribution System Operator-in-Training program within the designated time frame to maintain employment as a Distribution System Operator
