Responsibilities: The drive test engineer will be responsible for new build / upgrade drive testing, post processing, and optimization (drive testing new sites, CBAND, and working with the Engineers). They will also be completing competitive analysis for special projects (ROOT type drives, surveys, etc), special events, and complete drive testing for parameter and feature optimization trials.
Supporting Network Performance in evaluating and improving areas of poor coverage by identifying system performance problems.
Reporting issues to appropriate engineers.
Resolving customer service issues, assisting in implementing solutions, and collecting drive test data in support of performance evaluations and build program prioritization.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelors in Engineering
Drive Test / Post-processing / Optimization. Responsible for contributing in the RF Design and Performance of the regional cellular network. Responsibilities include: drive data collection using scanner and internal tool (DMAT), XCAL, QXDM and post processing; working with the performance team to understand area and issues within his/her area; and working with System Performance and RF to understand issues and help improve TPUT, and reduce Lost Calls and Ineffective Attempts within their area. Other responsibilities include: performing drive testing to evaluate search area candidate as necessary; performing radio engineering evaluation for system planning and site acquisition; beginning to identify location specific needs for new cells taking baseline, performance, capacity, and population into consideration; and evaluating coverage and capacity problems and requirements for coverage and capacity cells. Data collection for event preparation / optimization and competitive analysis. BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry. General understanding and or working knowledge in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies: Voice cells infrastructure including: Lucent, NOKIA, Samsung, Ericsson; Digital Communications including: 5GNR, LTE, VoLTE, CDMA; Operating systems and applications including: UNIX, Windows, MS Office; Test equipment including: XCAL, Viavi, PCTEL, DataPro, pilot scanners, baseline equipment, spectrum analyzers; RF System Optimization techniques for voice and data for NOKIA infrastructure. Should have a good understanding of engineering concepts, and must show aptitude and desire to learn and advance in a technical field. Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Suite. 5 to 7 years of experience.
