What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst - Jr position at Apex Systems?
We are seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join our team. This role involves performing accounting, reporting, and financial analysis for the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be responsible for complex and multifunctional areas of accounting, maintaining proper accounting and financial control through reconciliations and analytical analysis related to assigned functional areas.
Key Responsibilities :
Actively participate in and ensure timely and accurate financial statement reporting for GAAP, SAP, tax, and other regulatory reporting.
Conduct independent accounting-based research and complex analytical projects.
Support internal and external audits of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington and its subsidiaries.
Develop and maintain working relationships with operational departments and external vendors.
May supervise accounting staff and support the budget process.
Participate in and implement monthly financial close, prepare and supervise the assignments of staff accountants, including general ledger, CIP, fixed assets, and leases.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly management financial reporting package, regulatory reporting, and executive summary schedules. Experience and Education :
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 6 years of direct relevant experience or an advanced degree / certification in Finance / Accounting.
Preference for experience with both US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles.
Proficiency in Excel and MS Access. Additional Details :
Flexible remote options after the initial 3 months onsite.
No travel required.
Expected shift : Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Top three responsibilities : Managing projects, financial analysis, re-forecasting, and preparing ad hoc reports.
Top three skillsets needed : Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and strong analytical abilities.
