Job Description:
Job Title: Senior Expert FinOps Cloud Architect
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months with potential for extension
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and cost management and will work closely with our internal development teams to identify and implement strategies to reduce cloud expenses without compromising performance or scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the analysis of current cloud expenses and usage patterns to uncover cost-saving opportunities and eliminate inefficiencies.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud resource allocation and utilization.
Develop and implement cost management strategies, including rightsizing, optimizing storage solutions, and looking for efficiencies on managed services.
Monitor and report on cloud costs, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Work directly with internal developer teams to implement these recommendations on new and existing projects.
Work with DevOps and Infra engineers to optimize our internal Kubernetes platform.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and cost management tools to ensure best practices are being followed.
Requirements:
Experience working with large-scale cloud systems
Experience with Optimizing Kubernetes Applications
An understanding of cloud billing and optimization, preferably with major cloud providers such as Azure and Google Cloud.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex billing data.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with automation, IaC, and scripting (e.g., Terraform, go, Python) to drive cost optimization.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including ArgoCD
Familiarity with software development or experience as a software architect
Experience with cloud observability and dashboarding (e.g. Grafana)
Basic knowledge of financial principles and cost accounting related to cloud services.
Ability to troubleshoot and update Excel/Google Sheets reports related to cost reporting
