Job Description:

Apex has an immediate need for a Functional Finance Product Manager/BA to lead the delivery of cross-functional analytic reporting solutions for a diverse set of internal business stakeholders and leaders. This role emphasizes finance and accounting processes, with a focus on building and optimizing reporting frameworks.

Type: 6 month Contract

Erlanger, KY - 3-4 days onsite - Hybrid

The Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • IT Product Manager/BA experience leading analytics reporting projects.
  • Change management experience.
  • Extensive Finance & Accounting exposure/experience:
  • Has led analytics/reporting projects or financial systems implementation projects from the Finance side of the organization, or
  • Has led analytics projects or financial systems implementation projects from the IT side but worked extensively with the finance team to identify reporting capabilities and specific report requirements needed.
  • Has managed financial systems, including financial master data or reporting systems.
  • Has been the Finance point person to work with IT to define reporting requirements, and test developed reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of analytics solutions focusing on finance and accounting processes such as general ledger, financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in finance and accounting to translate business requirements into analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Act as lead liaison between the development team and business stakeholders, organizing the Product Team for multiple initiatives, including prioritization of work.
  • Partner with business users and leaders in problem-solving approaches and translating business problems to analytics needs.
  • Maintain proper communication cadence to hold business partners accountable and ensure successful delivery of programs.
  • Surface and communicate risks while actively working to mitigate them.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Financials, particularly in modules such as FI (Financial Accounting) and CO (Controlling).
  • Lead efforts to modernize and standardize reporting processes, leveraging automation and advanced analytics techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in finance and accounting processes.
  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting frameworks, reconciliations, and consolidations.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel & Excel add-ons, and/or SAP reporting.
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in finance analytics reporting.
  • 7 years of exposure to enterprise-level analytics.
  • Strong business aptitude with the ability to rapidly learn new problem domains.
  • Ability to reduce complex problems to their root cause and main drivers.
  • Resilient and able to work autonomously in the face of ambiguity.
  • Experience with compliance, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • General Ledger and/or Finance reporting implementation.
  • FP&A reporting experience with technical aptitude.
  • Any knowledge of SAP Financials (FI/CO modules) helpful.
  • End-to-end finance process knowledge.
  • Master data management and reporting.
  • Report building and data shaping.
  • Experience in financial system management or implementation.?
  • Controller background with compliance (statutory and regulatory) experience.
  • Experience in building reports and understanding data flow.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel add-ons, SAP reporting, and spreadsheet-based user interaction.
