Job Description:
The Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer is responsible for leading and specializing in Process Control Network (PCN) systems. This role ensures the maintenance of the site’s critical operational systems within the PCN. The analyst will deploy, implement, and support a variety of PCN/OT network solutions, providing design, configuration, deployment, and operational maintenance of network and transport technologies to ensure continuous availability of secure and reliable network services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with site PCN Administrators, Process Control, I&E teams, and vendors to implement changes to PCN, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Provide technical support to local operations personnel for ongoing maintenance and administration of systems, including cybersecurity, information and risk compliance, software license management, and software patch management.
- Support new projects and maintain existing systems.
Required Technical Skills:
- Support and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure for PCN networks.
- Working knowledge of RF infrastructure and standards supporting PCN/OT data transport: MW, WiFi, WiMAX, Cellular, UHF/VHF radios, WiHart, DAS, M2M, LoRaWAN.
- Programming of network components (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.).
- Manage Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for all control systems, including PLC, DCS, and RTU.
- Support, administration, and troubleshooting of hardware, operating systems, and software for PCN/DMZ Servers and Workstations, including domain controllers, HMI workstations, IO Servers, Engineering Stations, Historian and PI Servers, SIS and PCS controllers, Wireless Gateways (WiHart), Data Storage servers, dedicated backup utility servers, and other third-party machines.
Required Functional/Domain Knowledge:
- System builds as per company standards, patch management, virus protection, and backup and recovery management.
- Maintain IP compliance of all equipment in PCN and DMZ by adhering to company’s Information Risk Standards.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory as per company standards.
- Manage all software licenses installed on equipment in PCN and DMZ.
- Monitor reliability and health of PCN and DMZ equipment through daily checks, identifying problems, and implementing corrective actions.
- Support and integrate IT standards into the PCN environment.
- Support and integrate Chevron CESs and OT standards, including ODA for IIoT.
- Supervise and control all vendor activities related to systems/subsystems during their visit to the facility.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Process Teams, and BU in performing RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis), LCCA (Life Cycle Cost Analysis), and asset management improvement and training as needed.
- Mentor and assist other team members to ensure cross-training and overall CEC organizational capability.
- Provide support to HSE for Colorado regulatory reporting requirements from PCN-based equipment and data gathering instruments.
- Administer and audit PCN Firewalls.
