What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager position at Apex Systems?
Location: Redmond, WA - hybrid role (onsite 3 days/week)
Duration: 1 1/2 year contract
Summary:
- Interface with clients on technical and business issues from project initiation through delivery.
- Drive program/project schedules and status reports.
- Create and/or review multiple functional specifications that will be used as tools in making decisions as to how the product or service will be implemented.
- Provide Product Managers & Product Unit Managers with technical and/or analytical information.
- Organize cross functional activities ensuring the program/project is completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Provide program/project schedules and status reports.
Job Description:
- Purpose of the Team: Team is ESG for CESI environmental sustainability government. Team that gets efficiency data of how much water and power they use in the data center. Work with legal entities and to show how efficient they are in the world
- Key projects:
- Building relationships with different sites – while still doing the work. Building interpersonal relationships. Ability to have empathy to the sites. Someone who wants to get to the root of things.
- Handling day to day life cycle for the sponsor.
- Have a program where they have to see where a meter goes bad – lots of back and forth with teams in data centers to see the why behind issues / build relationships. A little technical and a little PM focused.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
- 10% group meetings
- 30-40% meeting with data centers IEs and looking over tickets
- Rest of time looking into data and lifecycle systems
Candidate Requirements:
- Years of Experience Required: 8-10 overall years of experience in the field.
- Service Ownership
- Service Lifecycle
- User serverice ownership experience
- Those with experience as service engineers could potentially have good experience to fill this roll as they have crossover to PM roles in this field
- Being able to describe projects in extensive detail
- People skills
- Data center experience preferred but not required
