Job Description:
Apex has an immediate need for a QA Release Manager to coordinate and oversee the software testing and release process for a large, multi-year payroll implementation. This person will hold responsibilities from planning and scheduling to deployment and monitoring, ensuring smooth and successful releases. They will act as a central point of contact for stakeholders, managing risks, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage release plans, timelines, and schedules. Defining the release timeline and identifying dependencies. Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to align on release goals and strategies. Ensure releases are aligned with organizational goals and priorities. Serve as a central point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the release process. They will coordinate with various teams, including developers, testers, and operations, to ensure a smooth and timely testing and release process. Facilitate communication and collaboration between different teams. Keep stakeholders informed about testing progress, risks, and issues. Identify and assess potential risks associated with the testing release process. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the release lifecycle. Ensure that all releases meet quality standards and requirements. Work with QA teams to identify and resolve issues. Monitor the performance of the software in production. Oversee the deployment of software to production environments. Monitor the performance of the software in production and identify areas for improvement. Respond to incidents and issues that arise during the release process. Maintain and update release documentation, including release plans, deployment procedures, and release notes. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Work with development and operations teams to implement automated pipelines, minimizing manual intervention and reducing the chances of human errors.

Requirements:
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of software development processes, testing methodologies, and deployment tools.
- Experience defining and leading testing strategy for regression and performance testing and QA automation.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services and CI/CD tools
- Experience with large transformations from customized, homegrown platforms to 3rd party solutions.
- Experience partnering with delivery partner vendors and system integrators.
- Experience with HR platforms (Success Factors, Time & Attendance Systems), SAP, and Tosca preferred.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and collaborate effectively with different teams.
- Experience working effectively across a large enterprise and successfully communicating at all levels of an organization.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during the testing and release process.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple releases simultaneously.
