Apex is seeking a dynamic Lead Consultant with strong consultative skills to serve as a Data Architect within Apex Systems Consulting Services. In this role, you will be leveraging your deep analytical skills, background in Data and Analytics Architecture, and knowledge of Power BIs capabilities and best practices to provide expert-level support and guidance in the implementation, customization, and optimization of solutions to our clients.

Job Description
Apex is seeking a dynamic Lead Consultant with strong consultative skills to serve as a Data Architect within Apex Systems Consulting Services. In this role, you will be leveraging your deep analytical skills, background in Data and Analytics Architecture, and knowledge of Power BIs capabilities and best practices to provide expert-level support and guidance in the implementation, customization, and optimization of solutions to our clients.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Provide enterprise data, analytics, and AI advisory and assessment services to Apex’s clients; with a focus on the Microsoft data stack.
- Serve as the go-to expert on Power BI and provide in-depth knowledge and support to internal and external teams and stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that supports data ingestion, storage and processing pipelines.
- Develop and enforce data security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and compliance.
- Establish and oversee data quality frameworks, implementing automated validation checks, error detection systems, and monitoring tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data.
- Apply expertise in ETL/ELT processes to streamline data transformation and integration.
- Lead statistical analysis efforts to extract insights and ensure data accuracy, enabling the development of robust reporting frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to architect data solutions that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and business intelligence capabilities in alignment with business/organizational objectives.
- Design, develop, and customize Power BI implementations and configurations, ensuring alignment with business goals and requirements.
- Define best practices and implement solutions for monitoring and optimizing the performance of Power BI solutions.
- Develop and deliver training documentation, user guides, and best practices guidelines for development, end-user, and additional technical resources on the usage and best practices of Power BI.
- Development of data models that align with reporting and business needs.
- Utilize statistical analysis techniques to ensure data accuracy and integrity in reports and dashboards.
- Manage and oversee projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and implementation skills. Stay current on relevant technology trends and practices. Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and demonstrate collaborative teamwork.

- Ensure adaptability of solutions to meet cross-functional needs, allowing deployment across various Data Governance, Data Analytics, and Data Science projects in the future.
- Client facing advisory and assessments in a Fortune 500 setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing Power BI solutions in a business environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Power BI components and architecture.
- Experience with data architecture, modeling, transformations, and ingestion patterns.
- Expert-level understanding of enterprise data architecture and analytics concepts like data product, data mesh, relational-data modelling, data integration, business intelligence and data-platform modernization.
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes with related tools, and statistical programming techniques.
- Experience building scalable visual reporting architectures with a focus on enabling flexible BI models for intuitive stakeholder use.
- Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as SQL, Python.
- Enterprise data modeling experience and leadership (standards and best practices and guidance).
- BA/BS required, preferably in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (applicable education and experience may be substituted).
- Demonstrated expertise in Data Architecture and components, including data infrastructure, security, migration strategies, governance, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing projects, adhering to defined timelines, budget, and quality.
- Experienced with working with teams of developers and other technical professionals in an Agile delivery framework.
- Positive relationship builder able to navigate through complex situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution.
- Strong analytical skills and the aptitude to quickly identify gaps and risks.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills including the ability to help stakeholders navigate the trade-offs and alternatives to various solution architectures.
- Ability to perform assessments of client environments and propose solutions.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and techniques.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst, Azure Solutions Architect or other relevant Microsoft certifications a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Purview is a plus.
- Familiar with DataOps concepts and tooling for source control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in environments requiring deep integration of analytics, data governance, and flexible deployment of resources across diverse data engagements.
