Apex Systems is looking to fill a Systems Administrator position in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The hiring manager needs someone that has experience supporting Windows and Linux Servers and ideally SAN storage, but not a must. On-call Requirements: occasionally/as needed for maintenance windows

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both Windows and Linux systems support, with an emphasis on hardware management and Storage Area Network (SAN) knowledge. This role will require hands-on support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of servers and associated hardware. Additionally, the candidate must be comfortable working on-site, including physical lifting and moving of server hardware, and overnight maintenance activity.
Must Haves:
1. Windows and Linux Servers - physical/virtual servers, memory on a server, hard drive, power supplies, some minor configurations on a server, powering up a server, configuration on the network so they can connect the servers to the network.
2. Monitoring understanding to check failures
3. Onsite flexibility with occassional on call maintenance windows

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both Windows and Linux servers and operating systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software components.
- Manage and maintain Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting storage systems.
- Perform routine server maintenance, upgrades, and patch management.
- Collaborate with other teams to implement and optimize system architectures.
- Ensure the integrity and security of server environments, including backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Support on-site server hardware installations and decommissioning, including physical lifting and movement of equipment.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, both proactively and reactively.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements or optimization.
- Participate in after-hours support for system outages, maintenance work, or other critical issues.
Qualifications:
- Education & Technical Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience in system administration or a similar role with Windows and Linux environments.
- Proven experience with server hardware support, including installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019) administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Linux administration (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Experience with SAN and storage management solutions (e.g., provisioning, monitoring, hardware replacement, troubleshooting).
- Familiarity with server virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with server hardware (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) and RAID configurations.
- Experience with network configurations and troubleshooting.
- Ceph experience a plus
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move servers and hardware components (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in data centers, including physical and environmental conditions such as noise, temperature variations, and close-quarter spaces.
- Ability to perform on-site work in a variety of environments.
