We are seeking a Payroll/Human Resources Assistant to support payroll processing, HR documentation, and compliance functions. This role is essential in ensuring smooth HR operations while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in employee records.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with payroll processing, address employee inquiries, and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Assisting Controller with AP functions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee records.
- Perform additional HR and administrative tasks as assigned
- Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
- Help coordinate and execute company events, including benefits enrollment, employee recognition programs, and holiday celebrations.
- Monitor driver training compliance through Luma
- Per load processing for driver payroll.
- Perform driver payroll audits timely and accurately.
- Process new hire and termination paperwork as part of the on/off-boarding process.
- Accurate setup and processing of driver deductions through settlements.
- Process and maintain driver garnishments, including interaction with various agencies
- Research, investigate and professionally communicate items requiring special handling and treatment (i.e. driver reimbursements, advances, trip sheet info, etc.).
- Maintains strong working relations with inter-departments for timely resolve of issues and communications with third party agencies when necessary.
- Performs additional duties as needed or assigned.
- Must be flexible and ready to adapt to change
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential matters professionally.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to quickly learn payroll management and HR software.
- Experience with TMS is a plus.
- Prior experience in payroll or HR administration is preferred.
