About the Role:
As a Counselor in the Substance Use Disorder clinics your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance and support to individuals facing various challenges in their lives. You will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate through personal, emotional, and mental health issues, and develop strategies to overcome them. Your ultimate goal will be to empower individuals to lead fulfilling and productive lives by promoting self-awareness, resilience, and positive coping mechanisms. This role requires a compassionate and empathetic approach, as you will be working closely with clients to understand their unique circumstances and provide personalized support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelors or Masters in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Counselor or Therapist; or
- Equivalent proven experience in providing counseling or therapy services, preferably in a healthcare or social assistance setting.
- Strong knowledge of various counseling techniques and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural sensitivity.
- Specialization in a specific area of counseling, such as substance abuse, trauma, or family therapy.
- Knowledge of local resources and community support services.
- Experience with electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to assess clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in times of emotional distress or mental health emergencies.
- Offer guidance and resources to clients to help them address and overcome personal challenges, such as relationship issues, addiction, grief, or trauma.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments.
