Essential Functions of the Role:
- Prepare rooms and organize instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies for specified departments.
- Clean and decontaminate instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectant solutions, adhering to regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Operate semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
- Inventory, order, replenish, and distribute instruments, reusable medical equipment, and medical supplies, including surgical carts.
- Maintain and control inventory, including applicable records and files.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control practices.
- Participate in in-service training and serve as a resource for training and mentoring Level 1 Sterile Processing staff.
- Knowledge of equipment and instrument sterilization methods and procedures.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Strong relational and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to comply with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control practices.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
- Certification/License/Registration: One of the following certifications is required:
- Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD), or
- Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST), or
- Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Tech (CSPDT), or
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
