DUTIES :
Evaluates the patient's ability to pay for services. Creates payment arrangements via cash, check, credit card or payment plan as appropriate. Utilizes the Epic estimator tool to provide estimates and collect upfront payments, deductible and copays.
Interviews patients at bedside, on the phone or in the office to determine eligibility for financial assistance. Completes and approves or submits completed applications for charity care, Medicaid and 501R.
Obtains insurance information, checks eligibility for active coverage and updates patients accounts accordingly.
Answering and returning phone calls and other general office tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS :
Charity Care experience, EOB experience, Medicaid experience, Upfront cash collection.
Bilingual preferred
EDUCATION :
High School diploma or GED is required.
