Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Analyst located at MacDill AFB, FL in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics’ (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for SOF Rotary Wing (PEO-RW). PEO-RW provides the Army Special Operations Aviation Command and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) (Airborne) with the most advanced RW aircraft, mission equipment, and training systems available.
This is a full-time opportunity located at MacDill, AFB, FL.
Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed understanding of SOF Rotary Wing aircraft, mission equipment, and operating environment
- Interact with SOF aircrews to assist the PEO in understanding key user requirements and capability issues
- Develop, coordinate, and execute rapid prototyping of leading edge technologies (avionics, communications, materials, and survivability equipment) to assess ability to imrove SOF mission execution
- Lead coordination with the Intelligence Community to aid the Rotary Wing Enterprise in understanding trends in threat capability and implementation
- Ensure program compliance with organizational guidance and regulatory requirements
- Interpret regulations and directives to determine impact on programs
- Coordinate across the USSOCOM staff to resolve HQ issues relating to program execution
- Routinely brief senior leaders within USSOCOM and the SOF Enterprise on program status, issues, and recommended courses of action
- Develop elements of program acquisition strategies to transition leading edge technologies to programs of record
- Keep program information current and organize data to submit to management for decision making
- Prepare reports and briefings on program status, policies and procedures, in support of acquisition program milestones
- Analyze effectiveness and efficiency of program; develop recommendations to improve program operations
- Answer data calls and inquiries on program policies and procedures
- Participate in requirements development process in support of senior managers and Government counterparts
- Monitor programs to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Manage program cost, schedule, performance, and risks in accordance to policies and procedures; formulate proposed mitigations as necessary
- Research ways to eliminate program bottlenecks and barriers to production; support government counterparts in development of solutions to program issues
Qualifications
Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a TS clearance with SCI Eligibility Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner (formerly Level II) Equivalency in the Program Management, Engineering & Technical Management, or Test & Evaluation fields or ability to attain within 6 months of hire with approved customer deferral Education: Bachelor's degree Years of Experience: 10 combined years of operational and acqusition experience related to DoD rotary wing weapon systems- 5 years of military helicopter pilot experience
- 5 years of DoD acquisition program management experience
- 5 years experience in intelligence gathering, analysis, and reporting
- Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02, “Operation of the Defense Acquisition System”
- Working knowledge of project management/scheduling software applications such as MS Project
- Experience with task management systems, proficient in building executive-level briefings, and able to apply acquisition experience to formulation and consolidation of official responses to taskers, RFIs, etc.
- Experience in researching, comprehending, assessing, and briefing new technologies, utilizing knowledge of existing capabilities to determine feasibility of new technologies across a portfolio of capabilities
- Knowledge of SOF-unique acquisition processes is valued
- Experience staffing SAMPs, APBs, and 70-1 documents for projects, combat evaluations, and studies highly desired
- Experience staffing FM worksheets for AF9 and DD448 funding, spend plan build development, market surveys, and technical evaluations is highly valued
