About Us:
Apollo After School is dedicated to enhancing the educational and developmental experiences of children through engaging enrichment clubs and childcare. We are currently looking for an outgoing and reliable coordinator to manage our Washington DC programs.
Position Overview:
As an Apollo Area Coordinator, you will ensure the success of our program at every site under your management. You will be responsible for overseeing safety, mentoring a team of Site Directors and Educators, and collaborating closely with our leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment.
- Guide daily operations and logistics with your team.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Oversee the implementation of the afterschool program across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality educational and recreational activities.
- Train, nurture, and lead your team to excellence.
- Master the art of student supervision and support.
- Ensure compliance with snack reimbursement rules.
- Manage free/reduced lunch voucher reimbursements for qualifying families.
- Spend a significant amount of time recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new staff members.
- As an Area Coordinator, you will be required to commute between different locations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with PK3-8 students in school or after-school settings.
- Management experience with a team of at least 10 staff members (direct reports).
- Valid First Aid/CPR and other safety certifications.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a closely related field, or a bachelor's degree in any subject area with at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education.
- Passion for enriching children's lives and fostering their growth.
- Knowledgeable in OSSE requirements and licensing.
- Understanding of snack reimbursement rules and free/reduced lunch voucher reimbursements for qualifying families.
Compensation and Benefits:
