As a Lead Data Engineer on our growing team, you’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performing data solutions to support business decision-making. You’ll work with modern cloud data infrastructure, leveraging Snowflake and dbt, and contribute to the design and implementation of robust data pipelines, models, and governance frameworks. You will also work closely with stakeholders across the business, particularly in Private Equity or financial services contexts, to ensure alignment and impact.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead architecture design, planning, implementation, and execution of ABOR (Account Book of Record) systems.
Build and maintain investment master and product master datasets by integrating multiple external systems.
Develop, maintain, and optimize ELT/ETL data pipelines using dbt and Snowflake.
Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver curated datasets.
Implement best practices for version-controlled data transformations using dbt.
Manage data ingestion from various sources (APIs, flat files, databases) into Snowflake, including a wide range of external third-party data providers.
Design and maintain scalable data models that support analytics and reporting.
Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance, data quality issues, and bottlenecks.
Drive data quality, documentation, and testing practices across the pipeline lifecycle.
Participate in architecture decisions and contribute to our data engineering roadmap.
Report on data metrics and pipeline reliability to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity.
Qualifications & Experience
8 years of experience in data engineering or related field.
Strong problem-solving skills, stakeholder management, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Self-motivated and self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Experience working in Private Equity or financial institutions is highly preferred.
Strong SQL skills and experience building scalable data pipelines.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt (must-have). Experience working with modern ELT tools, orchestration frameworks, and version control systems.
Experience integrating and normalizing data from a variety of external data sources.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
Experience with CI/CD for data workflows is a plus
Exposure to data governance, data cataloging, and observability tools is a plus
Knowledge of Python or another scripting language for data manipulation is a plus
Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

Pay Range
$140,000 – $205,000Apollo Global Management, Inc. (together with its subsidiaries and affiliates) is committed to championing opportunity.

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
