As the Director of Alumni Relations, you will lead the ongoing implementation and execution of a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy centered on four key pillars: Culture, Connectivity, Stakeholder Management, and New Business Opportunities. This role will play a critical role in building a trusted, globally recognized alumni network, foster meaningful connections, and identify opportunities for collaboration that align with and drive Apollo’s strategic priorities.
Primary Responsibilities
Culture:
- Build a branded network of trusted alumni, fostering lifelong ambassadors for Apollo.
- Develop and communicate a clear value proposition to alumni, ensuring connectivity to the organization's mission.
- Manage Alumni brand and messaging to connect with former employees to deliver meaningful updates on business activity, internal perspective on news articles, and offer Alumni-specific incentives.
Connectivity:
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive alumni database, leveraging technology to facilitate seamless communication.
- Design and execute communication strategies that keep alumni informed and engaged, including newsletters, social media, and event invitations.
- Organize events and initiatives to foster meaningful interactions, such as reunions, professional panels, and regional gatherings.
Alumni Ecosystem Management:
- Identify opportunities for alumni to contribute to organizational goals, such as serving on boards, participating in advisory roles, and making referrals for key hires.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align alumni efforts with broader talent acquisition and professional development objectives.
- Partner with corporate marketing and communications to create compelling content for the alumni channels
New Business Opportunities:
- Leverage the alumni network to explore untapped channels for high-net-worth partnerships, fund products, and transaction sourcing.
- Foster alumni engagement in initiatives that contribute to revenue growth and market expansion.
Strategic Leadership:
- Partner with senior leadership and other departments, including Corporate Communications, Human Capital, Global Wealth, and Engineering, to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage the alumni program budget and resources effectively to maximize impact.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in alumni relations and implement innovative strategies to stay ahead of the curve.
Measurement and Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate the success of alumni engagement initiatives using data-driven insights.
- Continuously refine strategies to enhance alumni satisfaction and program effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, alumni relations, community engagement, or a related field.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic engagement initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with a broad and sophisticated set of stakeholders.
- Robust written skills, including the ability to craft compelling messages for different communication channels.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, measure the impact of initiatives, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience with CRM systems, alumni databases, and digital engagement platforms.
- A strategic thinker with a passion for building and fostering community networks.
- Experience in financial services or similarly complex industries is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Pay Range
190,000 - 250,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
