Employment Training Specialist (Full-Time Non-Exempt Position)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide employment/job coaching services in our service area.
2. Contribute to statewide discussions for state disability employment planning for individuals with disabilities.
3. Responsible for teaching life skills and job readiness soft skills, work site supports, and job retention supports.
4. Link to, and provide additional navigation or interpretation for, existing employment information for individuals with disabilities, potential employers, current employers, and partners across the state.
5. Promote the Independent Living Philosophy in the community.
6. Gather, coordinate, and interpret national, statewide, and local resources related to employment of individuals with disabilities from a variety of perspectives.
7. Identify skills-based resources that would increase capacity for individuals with disabilities to obtain and retain employment.
8. Provides youth transition services, in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014, through establishing a close working relationship with local schools to facilitate with post-secondary education with youth ages 14 to 24.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and consumers to expand opportunities for community connections.
10. Maintain effective and positive working relationships with all disability partners as well as other agencies/service providers to encourage referrals, promote cooperation, and ensure effectiveness of services.
11. Ability to work with diverse consumers on a cross disabilities basis and understand their independent living needs to find resources in the community for referrals.
12. Prepare and submit reports as required in accordance with ACIL’s Operational Policies and Procedures.
13. Work with other staff to create a network consisting of necessary resources to support consumers in their pursuit of independent living.
14. Must complete intakes, needed documentation, and reports.
15. Answer phones in a professional manner.
16. Must document consumer information and services using CIL Management Suites. Must document regularly.
17. Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
18. Provide services in compliance with HIPPA (confidentiality) requirements.
19. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Social Services, or related field. In the absence of a bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree and equivalent work and life experience may be considered.
- The position will be in an office setting but will be required to go to consumer’s place of employment or other accessible locations. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Pay: $15.38 - $18.26 per hour
