Position Summary The Clinical Lead Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the daily clinical operations of the ambulatory care setting. This dynamic position combines leadership, clinical expertise, and patient care responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead a team of medical assistants, ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining high-quality patient care, and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Responsibilities :

Leadership and Supervision :

Provide leadership and supervision to the medical assistant team, ensuring a cohesive and efficient workflow.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including staff scheduling, task delegation, and performance management.

Clinical Support :

Perform medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.

  • Assist healthcare providers with minor procedures and examinations.
  • Training and Development :

    Conduct training sessions for new medical assistants and provide ongoing education for the team.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Quality Assurance :

    Monitor and maintain compliance with clinic protocols, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation.
  • Patient Interaction :

    Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner, addressing inquiries, providing information, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

  • Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team :

    Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and clinic efficiency.

  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Inventory Management :

    Oversee and manage medical supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.

  • Collaborate with administrative staff to maintain an organized and well-equipped clinical environment.
  • Performance Improvement :

    Identify areas for improvement in clinical workflows and patient care processes.

  • Implement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Compensation is commensurate upon education and experience. Hiring compensation range starts at $18.00 / hour. This is a non-exempt position. Position Qualifications

  • Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma or GED is required at time of hire.

  • Associates Degree in Medical Assisting or related is preferred
  • Experience
  • Previous experience in the medical field required, preferably in an ambulatory care setting.

  • Leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Required Registration / License / Certification
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required at time of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire.

  • Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of medical assistants.

  • Clinical Proficiency : Proficient in medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and assisting with procedures.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Organization : Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, tasks, and clinical workflows.
  • Problem-Solving : Ability to identify and address issues in clinical operations and implement effective solutions.
  • Physical Demands
  • Move swiftly within the clinic.

  • Precise manual skills for tasks and documentation.
  • Lift and carry supplies occasionally.
  • Extended standing during patient interactions.
  • Regular use of computers for administrative tasks.
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend shifts.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and staff for efficient operations.

  • Regular exposure to medical equipment, patients, and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience with various patient conditions and clinical procedures.

  • Flexibility in work schedules, including occasional evening or weekend shifts.
