Position Summary Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- Experience in project management, particularly in a communications or marketing setting.
- Experience establishing a project management framework
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in establishing a project management framework and using project management software, specifically Hive or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of program procedures, technology, best practices demonstrated by the ability to relate programs to strategic plan to address complex issues affecting clients.
- Knowledge of the inter-relationship of all program areas.
- Ability to revise and approve programs, and procedures collaboratively.
- Ability to develop and implement new or revised systems, and procedures, related to the needs of the organization.
- Ability to serve as the program/project expert.

- Masters degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP , CAPM )
- Experience in a higher education environment
- Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting and data analysis

The Project Manager – Hive Administrator must:
- Traffic all Communications projects from inception to completion: Oversee the trafficking of communication projects within the University Communications division. Ensure that projects are assigned, tracked, progressed efficiently through the pipeline, and included in any relevant reporting.
- Administer Hive Project Management System: Act as the primary administrator for Hive, the project management system used by University Communications. Manage system settings, user access, and workflows to optimize project tracking and reporting.
- Coordinate with Team Members and Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines. Facilitate communication between all parties involved to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Monitor Project Progress and Deadlines: Keep a close eye on project timelines and progress. Proactively address potential delays by reallocating resources or adjusting timelines as necessary.
- Develop and Implement Workflow Processes: Create and refine workflow processes within Hive to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that the system is used to its full potential in managing project workflows.
- Provide Training and Support on Hive Usage: Train and support team members in using Hive effectively. Develop resources and guides to assist users in navigating and utilizing the system.
- Report on Project Status and Metrics: Generate and present regular reports on project status, timelines, and resource allocation. Use Hive’s analytics features to provide insights into project management efficiency.
- Ensure Quality Control in Project Execution: Monitor the quality of work being produced and ensure that it meets the university’s standards and objectives. Coordinate with relevant teams to maintain consistency and excellence in output.
- Optimize Resource Allocation: Assess project requirements and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines. Identify and address resource gaps or overloads in project assignments.
- Stay Updated with Project Management Trends: Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in project management. Explore opportunities to enhance the functionality and effectiveness of Hive within the University Communications division.
